We are more than excited to introduce our newest addition to our Fortnite Roster: Otto ’Shipenen’ Silvennoinen! He is a promising talented player, who is currently in the top 10 of the Finnish Power Rankings, and the only one on the list who is a controller player! Below you can find Shipenen’s introduction, as well as our own Fortnite Manager, Halila’s, regards.
“I am so excited to join Exen Esports! We have been in talks regarding this with Falla, the CEO, for a long time, and finally it is happening! I am looking forward to what the future holds in this organization.“
Shipenen started his gaming journey in 2011 with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and since then the gaming world has hooked him in. He started Fortnite already in Pre-Season through his friends and has been playing almost daily ever since!
When asked about his playing style, he stated that he likes to play aggressive, even though its not always the wisest thing to do. He doesn’t have any gameday rituals per se, but he prefers to not play for couple hours before the tournament, so he can focus all his energy on the important games – what a champ!
Some of Shipenen’s achievements:
- Daily Trio #3
- Duo Cash Cup #12
- Duo FNCS Week 2 Finals #47
- Duo FNCS Qualified for Heats
- Solo Cash Cup (NA EAST) #22
- Solo Cash Cup (EU) #28, #38, #40, #79

“There’s a million things I could say about Shipenen. I’ve known him for such a long time. I remember playing Public Squads with him around 2 years back, and from those times I knew that he was going to be heard of in the competitive scene. Not too long ago from those times, Shipenen aka Sipe started to utilize his talents and skills in the first online tournaments hosted by Epic Games. It didn’t take much time until he secured his first earnings from the World Cup Duo Qualifiers with his good friend Karba. Sipe also earnt himself $800 at the World Cup Solo Qualifiers.
Since then Sipe has been very consistent and has placed well in many events throughout this past year. His consistency reflects in the Fortnite Gamepedia. He is currently the only controller player in the top 10 of the Finnish Power Rankings List – making him arguably the best controller player in Finland.
What makes him so special then? Sipe’s game intelligence is definitely on a higher level that most competitive players, which is why he is always able to perform well no matter what the current meta is. He is a very humble and dedicated grinder, who never makes a big name of himself. Personally, I’ve known Shipenen for a long time, and from now on I am pleased to be a colleague of his, but rather I am more honoured to call him my friend. I am excited for the future and certain that Sipe will feel right at home with Exen.
Welcome to Exen, Shipenen!“
